The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth needs some of the greatest employees. Each year, the Calgary Stampede hires an additional 3,500 employees for the 10 days of Stampede. This year the annual online recruitment campaign for 10-day Stampede starts on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 4 p.m.
Calgary Stampede employees help create lasting memories and experiences for over 1.2 million visitors each year. As the face of the Stampede, employees show guests what western hospitality really means.
“It’s always exciting to be a part of the Calgary Stampede team, but this year is a little extra special” says Susan Garnett, vice-president, People Services. “Our Centennial celebrations are going to be spectacular and we need some great people to help us put on the show. If you are looking for a part-time job this summer, the Calgary Stampede is the place to be. It is an opportunity that returning and first-time employees will not want to miss!”
A 10-day Calgary Stampede employee for the past four years, Kathy Asham sums up her Stampede experience by saying, “It’s hard work and long hours, but it is the best thing I do all year. Something about working at the Stampede just makes me feel wanted, important and a part of something big and great.”
There are a variety of opportunities available for all ages and levels of experience including cooks, cashiers, sales associates and ticket seller positions and many more.
Candidates can apply for a position by logging on to calgarystampede.com and by selecting an opportunity that interests them. While online, candidates must also select a date and a time-slot for their interview. Applicants must be at least 15 years of age by July 5, 2012 in order to apply. Many positions require applicants to be over 18 years of age.
