Calgary – This year’s Calgary Stampede Parade is set to dazzle Calgarians and visitors from around the world with 125 colourful floats, bands, and other entries. Some 4,000 people, 700 horses, and one very large, 3,000 pound Brahma steer named Wild West Willie will delight the 200,000 spectators expected along the Parade route.
On Saturday, June 25, we invite the media to join the Calgary Stampede Parade committee for a horse safety demonstration, with generous assistance from the “Guns of the Golden West”, Canada’s original Wild West Show.
We’re going to provide an overview of how we keep the animal participants safe as the Parade makes its five kilometre trek through downtown Calgary.
