Calgary – An incredible display of fireworks will light up the night sky over Calgary Friday, July 3, and Sunday, July 12. Bigger and higher than traditional Stampede fireworks, the Bell Fireworks Spectacular will be seen by anyone with a view of the city skyline. As all of Stampede Park is being utilized for the massive fireworks display, it will be closed to the public.

The media is invited to Stampede Park for a quick behind-the-scenes look at the fireworks setup, as well as interviews with members of the team responsible for creating the massive show. Unfortunately, time is limited with only 30 minutes available.

Media Availability:

Date: Thursday, July 2

Time: 12 - 12:30 p.m.

Location: East side, infield vehicle tunnel. *do not enter until fireworks team permits

Please RSVP to or 403-585-4706 if planning to attend. For safety reasons, we need to know who’s on site.

Please help us share the following safety messaging with the public:

  • This year’s fireworks will be bigger and higher so they can be viewed from a distance, while physical distancing.
  • If you can see the city skyline, you will be able to see the fireworks.
  • Stampede Park is closed to the public during the Fireworks.
  • Observe physical distancing guidelines and avoid crowds if leaving your home to watch the fireworks.
  • The best seat in the house may be at YOUR house!
