Calgary – More than 550 students in Grades 6 to 9 from rural schools across southern Alberta will make a trip to Stampede Park on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 for a day of fun and learning at Farm Safety Day, presented by AltaLink.
This is the third annual Farm Safety Day and is a great opportunity for students to participate in a number of hands-on rural and farm safety activities. The day provides valuable tools and knowledge aimed at keeping youth safe in a farm-setting. Students will learn about the risks of living and working on a farm through activities that mimic real-life hazards. This year they will learn about livestock safety, distracted driving, first aid and working safely around large equipment and electricity. Participants will also have a chance to experience the new CASA BeGrainSafe trailer, a life-sized station that promotes grain safety and teaches students how to prevent incidents.
Due to the involvement of minors in this event, please contact Brooke Martine at firstname.lastname@example.org or 403.336.3979 prior to taking any photos or video at Farm Safety Day.
