Free with admission to Stampede Park, get your fill of exciting shows, educational demonstrations and furry friends all 10 days of the 2021 Calgary Stampede. With programming throughout the day, the Agriculture Zone is a family-friendly experience perfect for those looking to get up close and personal with all kinds of farm animals. The Nutrien Western Event Centre is home to both demonstrations and action-packed western competition throughout Stampede 2021.
The heavy horses are back and ready to show off their beauty and brawn! Join us for the Heavy Horse Show, July 9 and 10, with the fan-favourite World Champion Six Heavy Horse Hitch competition on Sunday, July 11. If muscle is more your thing, check out the Heavy Horse Pull July 13, 14 and 15 at 6:00 pm.
If a different kind of horse power is more your thing, the Vintage Tractor Pull is a can’t miss! See beautifully restored tractors bring history back to life on July 12 as they power up for an intense competition.
The Cowboy Up Challenge is a true test of horsemanship and speed. The most talented horse and rider teams from across Canada will partner up to race against the clock as they maneuver through challenging obstacles, displaying incredible athleticism and team work, July 16, 17 and 18.
Teams of three talented riders will square off against the herd instincts of cattle in Team Penning as they attempt to separate three specifically identified cattle from the herd in 60 seconds or less. The competition takes place July 15, 16, 17 and 18.
Talk about four-legged focus! This fan-favourite event will have you up off your seat. The World Stock Dog Championship is the ultimate showcase of canine skill and intelligence. Watch as these talented pups herd a group of sheep through an obstacle course in 4 minutes or less, July 13 and 14.
And when we say mini but mighty, we mean miniature horses! Don’t miss these little guys in action as they compete in classes such as driving, jumping and obstacle competitions during the Miniature Horse Show, July 16, 17 and 18.
Looking to spend some time out of the sun? Take a stroll through the Agriculture Barn to make some new animal friends including dairy cows, horses of every size and so much more! Check out the new demonstration tent and Country Trail for demonstrations throughout the week, including the Lord Strathcona Mounted Troop, blacksmiths and more.
