CALGARY – Aaron Pritchett is returning to another Calgary Stampede stage to be this year’s celebrity judge at the Calgary Stampede Parade.

Pritchett will select the entry that best exemplifies the spirit of the Calgary Stampede. That entry will receive the 2019 Celebrities’ Choice Award.

“Aaron Pritchett is no stranger to the Calgary Stampede having been involved in one way or another for over 20 years; most notably on the stage at Nashville North,” said Karen Franco, Chair of the Calgary Stampede Parade Committee.  “Where music will be front and centre at the parade, we are thrilled to have a great Canadian musician in the the celebrity judge’s chair.”

A mainstage staple in Canadian country music, Aaron Pritchett continues to deliver fresh new music while refusing to abandon the down-home sincerity in his songs that has been his trademark since his career inception. Pritchett has become known for his charting anthems such as his Top 10, GOLD-certified hit “Hold My Beer,” “Let’s Get Rowdy” and “Dirt Road in ‘Em,” the lead track from his #1 album The Score. Pritchett’s latest #1 single “Better When I Do” follows his 2018 hit “Worth A Shot” which charted Top 10 on radio for four weeks straight.

“The Calgary Stampede is one of my favourite events to be a part of year in and year out,” said Pritchett.  “So, to be asked to be a judge of the parade floats is an absolute honour. This is one Stampede that I am looking forward to more than ever before and in a city that I hold close to my heart.”

With multiple Canadian Country Music Association Award wins, and Juno nominations to his credit, Pritchett released his current album Out On The Town this past January and has been touring the country in support of the project; with many new dates already announced for a second leg this Fall.

The Calgary Stampede Parade is organized by a team of passionate volunteers who make up the Calgary Stampede Parade Committee. The Calgary Stampede is July 5-14, 2019. The Calgary Stampede Parade begins at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 5.
