Calgary Stampede Lotteries unveils $1.2 million in prizes
Calgary – More than $1.2 million in prizes were unveiled today as Calgary Stampede Lotteries showcased its impressive 2012 lineup. Included was the much-anticipated 2,391 square foot Rotary Dream Home presented by Homes by Avi, valued at $745,950 and Kinsmen Wheels totaling $500,215.
“It’s jaw dropping to see $1.2 million in prizes right before your eyes,” says Pam Fawcett, chair of the Calgary Stampede Lotteries committee. “Most importantly, it’s great to know that these prizes will not only have an enormous impact on the lives of this year’s lucky winners but that money raised through the lotteries program will go to such great causes.”
Since the 1950s, proceeds from the Calgary Stampede Lotteries have supported partner organizations in the community. In 2012, proceeds from the Calgary Stampede Lotteries will be distributed to five not-for-profit organizations – the Calgary North Hill Lions Club, the Kinsmen Club of Calgary, the Rotary Club of Calgary South, the Calgary Stampede Foundation, and the Calgary Marching Show Band Association. These organizations, in turn, distribute funds to valuable programs and projects throughout southern Alberta.
With more than $22 million distributed in the past 10 years to worthwhile community projects, Calgary Stampede Lotteries makes a difference and positively impacts the lives of southern Albertans throughout the year. For more information visit calgarystampedelotteries.ca.
