Today's Story Ideas
-Return of the Zipper!
Everyone’s favourite ride, the Zipper, lasted less than a year in retirement. When it was announced in 2017 that it would be the Zipper’s last year before retirement, crowds streamed to Stampede Park to lineup for their last chance on the ride. With overwhelming response from the community, the ride was destined to make a comeback. After travelling across the world to Germany for specialty replacement parts, the Zipper has returned to Stampede Park in better shape than ever.
-Doris Heintz, an 82 year old woman will be competing today in the fast-paced Extreme Dog & Pony Race. Heintz is one of only two Canadians to have been inducted into the Extreme Cowboy Hall of Fame and is ready to race against nine other competitors in the Nutrien Western Event Centre at 11:45 a.m.
