World Stock Dog Championship – The World Stock Dog Championship is the ultimate showcase of canine skill and intelligence. These agile dogs have just four minutes to move three sheep through a challenging course.

Heavy Horse Show – World Champion Six-Horse Hitch with members of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra –Teams from across North America will converge in Calgary to compete for the coveted title. Pulling immaculately styled freight wagons, these impressive horses weighing around one-ton apiece, demand attention in their sparkling patent leather harnesses and gleaming chrome. The finale sees the final hitches move in time to the accompaniment of members of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, adding even more class and elegance to an already stellar event. 2019 marks the 20th Anniversary of the partnership between the Calgary Stampede’s Heavy Horse Show and the prestigious Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra

CN Community South Park - To celebrate its 100th anniversary, CN is going on tour from coast to coast across the continent. And, the festivities are stopping at Calgary Stampede! CN100 – A Moving Celebration is an immersive exhibit where you can discover the history of CN as well as the people and innovations that built North America. An event for the whole family with interactive experiences, shows and lots of activities for kids.

Stampede Stories

  • Elbow River Camp – Located in Enmax Park (east across the river from Saddledome/Stampede Park), Elbow River Camp features 26 tipis from the five tribes of Treaty 7. Visit to see various traditional Aboriginal performances including singing and dancing. Witness bannock being made before your eyes, and try some for yourself at the Sweet Grass Lodge.
  • The Grandstand Show – Trailblazer - This year’s show takes inspiration from the travelling shows of the early 20th century, recreating the excitement and wild spectacle of the era and hurtling it into the 21st century on the most technologically advanced outdoor stage in the world. Trailblazer will take audiences on a one of a kind adventure led by our show master Onalea Gilbertson and featuring many other amazing guests, all culminating in our world-famous fireworks leaving audiences breathless.
