Canadian National Miniature Horse Show – Not just one of the cutest attractions on the park but the most dynamic are the miniature horses. No more than 34 inches tall these horses compete in everything from obstacle courses, mini barrel racing, hunter/jumper etc. and the ever popular costume class! Running from July 12-14th these miniatures bring the competition.
Mercuria NCHA World Series of Cutting Finals –Come out and see the smooth operators of this western competition. The horse and rider work as a team to separate one animal from a herd of cattle for a specific amount of time. The finals kick off at 2pm in the Agrium Western Event Centre.
Rodeo 101 – Want to learn how to ride a bull, how a judge scores a ride, or the fastest way to wrestle a steer? The professionals will be teaching you all the necessary skills over in the Northern Lights Arena at 10:30 a.m.
Mutton Busting – Sheep vs Kid – no rules, just fun! This event introduces the youngest and bravest to the sport of rodeo as they saddle up on the back of a sheep and do their best to hold on for the full 8 seconds. This adorable event kicks up the dust in the Northern Lights Arena at 7 p.m.

- Bareback Rider Steven Peebles is back on the riggin for the 2016 Calgary Stampede after sitting out last years event with a near death injury to go along with a broken back he sustained this winter. On his first ride since that broken back, Peebles posted an 85.50 to lead Day 1 in Pool B standings. Look for him to continue his comeback at the Calgary Stampede as he vies for a spot in Showdown Sunday.
- The Kids Chili Cook Off in the Calgary Co-op Kitchen Theater features members of the Boys & Girls Club of Calgary making Chili from scratch, each with their own special ingredient. Guest judges will be on hand from the Calgary Fire Department, Calgary Co-op Kitchen Theater and other culinary experts. The energy of the children and cooking skill is truly a sight to see!
