Calgary – The Indian Village Opening Ceremonies is your chance to see tipi owners and special guest performers in full regalia. Watch as they officially open the Village for the 10 days. Everyone from the general public is invited to this special ceremony; attendees will be in the company of dignitaries and special guests.
The Opening Ceremonies are truly unique to the Calgary Stampede as each of the Treaty 7 nations have their own rituals and traditions to open camp, but during the Stampede all nations join together to create a special blended, collaborative approach. This is something that can only be experienced at the Calgary Stampede.
The Calgary Stampede is offering free admission on Friday, July 7 until 1:30 p.m., so take advantage of this special offer and then make your way to Indian Village for the afternoon.
