Calgary – In a celebration of cultural pride and ongoing tradition, the 2023 Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess will be crowned on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022.

Three incredible women will showcase their accomplishments in a competition that includes traditional dance, public speaking, cultural knowledge and personal interview components.

WHAT:        2023 First Nations Princess Crowning Ceremony

WHEN:        Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022

                         2 p.m. – Contest begins

                         4 p.m. – (Approximately) 2023 Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess is Crowned

WHERE:      Palomino Room, BMO Centre, Stampede Park

The Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess is a member of a Treaty 7 First Nation who serves as an ambassador of Elbow River Camp presented by Enbridge and the Calgary Stampede. Throughout her reign, she shares her culture and traditions and will speak to the historic partnership between families from the Kainai, Piikani, Siksika, Stoney Nakoda, and Tsuut’ina First Nations and the Calgary Stampede. The 2023 First Nations Princess reigns with the Calgary Stampede Princess as the official Calgary Stampede Royalty. Throughout their reign from January through December 2023, the duo will make hundreds of appearances as ambassadors of the Stampede, celebrating its western heritage and values locally and around the world.
