CALGARY, ALBERTA – The Calgary Stampede Parade hits the streets of downtown Calgary on Friday, July 7, 2017. Hundreds of thousands of Calgarians and visitors from around the world are once again expected to line the route to watch.  The Stampede Parade Committee wants to remind everyone that it is not too late to apply to enter the parade.

It is the diverse and vibrant entries from local, national and international community groups, clubs and organizations that make the Calgary Stampede Parade a unique spectacle of intricate floats, marching bands, western riders, and other distinctive exhibits.  In honour of Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation, a particular focus this year will be on our national celebration.

“In both good times and bad, the parade has always been a vehicle for Calgary’s charitable, community and social groups, along with our resilient corporate community to come together and celebrate what makes Calgary great,” says Parade committee chair Michael Wetherup”.  As the official kick-off to the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, this year’s parade will salute Canada’s 150th and set the tone for 10 days of Calgary’s world-renowned celebration.”

Applications must be received before February 28, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. MST.  To apply for entry into the Calgary Stampede Parade, please visit:

The Parade is broadcast live to a regional and national television audience of almost 280,000 people, with approximately 350,000 spectators lining the streets of downtown Calgary to take in the celebration.  Parade fans can also celebrate and engage through social media.
