New Maker Market set to sell unique, hand-made Western Canadian goods at the Stampede
Calgary – A craft experience like never before! The Calgary Stampede introduces Maker Market to this year’s shopping excitement – offering new vendors every four days throughout Stampede.
The Maker Market is the newest addition to BMO Centre, Hall A and is a place where Stampede guests can purchase unique, hand-made goods from approximately 60 Western Canadian small businesses, with the majority from Alberta-based companies. The vendors will be selling uniquely designed glass jewellery, hand-made ceramics, hand-knit items, children’s clothes and books, pet supplies, leather goods, art and more.
Each vendor prepares their goods with individual craftsmanship, meaning their products are not mass-produced and are mostly one-of-a-kind. With new vendors setting up shop throughout the 10 days you’ll have every reason to come back multiple times.
Also featured in the Maker Market area is a community booth which will act as a showcase space for local art initiatives. “Art is an important part of a healthy, vibrant community and the Maker Market team is dedicated to providing a space in the youth and arts community to showcase local talent,” shares Melanie Love, Maker Market volunteer coordinator of the Western Showcase committee.
All three Maker Market rotations are free with admission to the Calgary Stampede, July 7 – 16, 2017. Enhancing this year’s Maker Market experience is the introduction of the Stampede SuperPass, which grants pass holders unlimited entry into Stampede Park for all 10 days for just $39 plus tax. SuperPass sales end tonight so get yours while you still can at CalgaryStampede.com/superpass.
