Calgary–At the half-way point of this year’s Calgary Stampede the Showdown 50/50 pot sits at more than $1.2 million! With four more days to go, the jackpot is well on its way!
This year, Stampede Showdown 50/50 took on a new format, featuring daily qualifier draws. As of Tuesday, July 10, five finalists have been drawn; meet the potential Showdown 50/50 winners:
Day 1 – Wil Shaver – Shaver is an 82 year-old working farmer from north of Airdrie
Day 2 – Steven Wayne – Wayne’s a lucky young man whose mom buys him a ticket each year
Day 3 – Don Hartman – enjoying retired life in Strathmore
Day 4 – Christopher Wittke – Wittke, 56, says ‘this would change my life!’
Day 5 – Wanda Wharran – Wharran bought her ticket online, says “It feels like Willie Wonka and the golden ticket and I am just waiting for the chocolate.”
Five additional names, one per day, will be added to the list of potential winners. On the final Sunday of Stampede, all 10 daily winners will face off in a live draw for half of the total jackpot at 12:30 a.m.
For the 67th year in a row, Calgary Stampede Lotteries are partnering with the community to raise money for local charities and offer life changing prizes. Last year, thanks to our partners at the Kinsmen Club of Calgary and the Rotary Club of Calgary South, more than $1.3 million was donated back into local charities and community outreach programs.
