Calgary – Calling all thrill seekers! Experience the Calgary Stampede Midway like never before; suspended 140 ft. above the ground, flying across Stampede Park on the tallest and longest multi-point event Zipline in North America!
“Adrenaline junkies are in for an extra dose of excitement with the addition of the Zipline at this year’s Stampede,” says Kyle Corner, Manager Entertainment, Programming at the Calgary Stampede. “Riders will get the thrill of a lifetime, reaching high speeds all while taking in the Stampede Midway from end-to-end!”
Starting in the Grandstand Courtyard, thrill seekers will climb 14 storeys up the first platform, where they can be harnessed onto one of four separate riding lines. Riders will fly as fast as 50 km per hour to the second platform near the BMO Centre. From there, they will climb to another platform, harness up and shoot down in a different direction to the Kids’ Midway. In total, riders will glide almost four football fields in length across the Stampede Midway.
Tickets for the Zipline can be purchased for $50 from two ticket booths, located near the Monster Energy Compound on the Midway and in the Grandstand Courtyard. Tickets to ride the Zipline can be redeemed at the Zipline starting point in the Grandstand Courtyard at any time on the same day of purchase.
