Social Media lives at the Calgary Stampede

Calgary – Partner up with your best social media pal and experience the Calgary Stampede like never before. The Calgary Stampede is looking to find the perfect pair of Ultimate Interns for The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, July 6 – 15. The Ultimate Intern contest is once again looking for the perfect, experience-seeking, blog-posting, Twitter-tweeting, video-streaming team to fill the Ultimate Interns’ boots.



The 2012 Ultimate Intern winners will live and breathe the Calgary Stampede. While residing in a trailer in the heart of the Midway, they will have exclusive access to 10 days of unique Stampede experiences to share with the world via Twitter, blogs and YouTube.


“We have an amazingly active and passionate social community,” said Shayne McBride, Brand Marketing manager. “We’re continually looking for new avenues and tools to stay connected with them and allow them to be a part of our story. Through the Ultimate Intern contest they’re able to see the Stampede from the inside, and share new and exciting Stampede experiences.”


Interested contestants can upload a 60 second video and essay telling the Calgary Stampede why they would make the perfect pair. From May 11 – 22, contestants’ friends and family, as well as the general public are welcome to vote daily for their favorite video. Judges will choose a winning team from the 10 most popular videos.


The team of Ultimate Interns will each receive an iPhone, $500 cash, $100 gift certificate for the Stampede Store, $50 midway card, $250 concession Range Bucks, a VIP night at Nashville North, Rodeo tickets and more.


Contestants can upload their videos to calgarystampede.com/ultimateintern until May 10. Video voting period runs May 11 - 22 and the Ultimate Interns will be announced on May 30. For more information, check out calgarystampede.com.
