Calgary - Triple B - BBQ, Bulls and Beer, the newest addition to the 2014 Stampede, promises to keep visitors holding on to their hats as they ride mechanical bulls, sip cold beers and enjoy the world’s biggest outdoor barbeque on Calgary’s largest outdoor patio.
“We want to surprise our visitors this year bringing the barbeque experience to Stampede like you’ve never seen it before,” says Allison Wright, midway programming manager. “Triple B will be a rodeo themed experience that will provide great food and entertainment for visitors of all ages.”
Stampede has partnered with Juicys and Big Bubba’s Bad BBQ, two California-based BBQ joints (heading north for the first time) to delight us with their famous grilling. Juicysfeatures “Outlaw,” the world’s largest outdoor barbeque, and holds the world record for the largest hamburger (777 pounds, on the menu at $5,000). Big Bubba’s Bad BBQ has all the grilled food you can imagine, from ribs to salads there is sure to be something sizzling for everyone.
“We are extremely proud to partner with the Calgary Stampede to provide a themed area as innovative as Triple B. This will be our first trip to Canada and we are looking forward to enjoying the world class hospitality that the people of Calgary are famous for,” says Roger Sharp, owner, Big Bubba’s Bad BBQ. “The overwhelming community support for the Stampede is known throughout the fairs and festivals industry and we are extremely proud to be a part of this magnificent event.”
Two head-to-head mechanical bulls from Big Bubba’s Bad BBQ will bring some rodeo flair to Triple B, creating a fun and new opportunity for our visitors to experience this western tradition.
Families and young adults are welcome to enjoy the delicious barbeque and tackle bull riding until 8 p.m. Following that, Triple B will be transformed into an adult entertainment zone from 8 p.m. until close every night.
Triple B will be located next to the Grandstand where Nashville North was previously located. This year’s lineup of stars at Nashville North is filled with amazing Canadian talent so be sure to check them out at the new location west of the Olympic Gate entrance.
