Calgary – The Calgary Stampede is grateful for the community’s support as we prepare for the return of live events in our city. We recognize this is a time of transition and are thankful for the opportunity to once again create a celebration that has been part of the fabric of our city for 109 years.

“Over the next few days we anticipate we will see our community become more comfortable with the return to live events,” says Dana Peers, Interim CEO of the Calgary Stampede. “We will remain adaptive to changing circumstances to build the best experience possible for our guests. This Stampede is about everyone having a great time as we shift back to in-person experiences.”

For Stampede 2021 – expect to have room to roam. You will see your very favourite things in new and different ways. As you explore Stampede Park you will notice wider aisles on the midway and attractions spread out. We also want our guests to build the very best experiences for themselves. Stampede 2021 is tailored so that everyone can ‘Stampede their way’ – choosing activities and experiences based on their own level of comfort.

“It’s important for everyone to determine what’s best for themselves,” says Peers. “That’s what Stampede’s always been about, but this year more than ever the focus is on what you are personally comfortable with.”

As part of choosing to Stampede your way, we encourage the community to take advantage of a number of special Value Days and offers available. Among those offers, we would like to invite all front-line workers who have given so much to our community over the past 16 months to join us for free over the first five days of Stampede. Guests can plan ahead with pre-purchased attendance, or make a spontaneous visit with admission at the gates.

Stampede 2021 has something for everyone, including the fun and familiar. The energy of live music, the thrill of the midway rides, the amazing animals and the flash of the fireworks. We also have new and innovative experiences. As part of our 2021 Evening Show experience, prepare to be thrilled by the adrenaline filled western performances of Broncs after Dark followed by our high-energy Bell Grandstand Show. In special celebration of our province moving forward together, we are thrilled to share the Fireworks Spectacular in Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge and here in Calgary tonight, July 9.

With the focus on the safe return to live events, which includes an overall reduced Park capacity, attendance numbers will not be reported on a daily basis. We look forward to sharing attendance numbers at the conclusion of Stampede.
