For first-time Calgary Stampede Lotteries ticket buyer, Andrea Park, making the leap to buy a ticket during Stampede 2025 felt like taking a hopeful first step toward her dream of owning a home. This morning, Andrea, along with her partner David Browning, and the Park and Browning families, were officially handed the keys to the 2025 Calgary Stampede Rotary Dream Home, where the entire family will live together.
At the beginning of 2025, Andrea had set a clear goal for herself and her family: “This is the year we are going to get our first home.” Determined to create stability for her daughter and inspired by her parents, who have purchased Stampede Lotteries tickets for more than two decades, she decided to try her luck for the first time.
“My parents have been buying Stampede Lotteries tickets for 23 years and they never lost hope,” says Andrea. “This was my first time buying a ticket, and I was like, ‘This could be a chance for me to own a home. Let’s try it.’ Winning means a lot to my family. It’s life changing.”
When Andrea received the call from the Stampede Lotteries Committee, she says she was in disbelief. “All I heard was, ‘You better be sitting down,’ and then I heard the words ‘Dream Home’ and ‘Stampede.’ I was already on the floor. I couldn’t believe it.”
The Park family will move into their new home just in time for the holidays, which she describes as “perfect timing” and “the best gift ever.” She is especially excited for the kitchen and her walk-in closet, something she has dreamed of for years. “A couple of years ago, I started building up my wardrobe for the day I got my home. And now I’m ready for that closet.”
Andrea also expressed deep gratitude for the community that makes Stampede Lotteries possible. “I want to thank the community because if it wasn’t for the community, I wouldn’t have a home. Each person that purchased a ticket – they’re the ones who made this dream happen. Stampede Lotteries changes people’s lives. In this case, it not only changed my family’s life, but my daughter’s life.”
The stunning 2025 Rotary Dream Home, designed and built by Homes by Avi with development partner Anthem Properties, is the most valued Dream Home package to date at $1.49 million. The 2,480 sq. ft. home is fully furnished and features three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths, a dedicated home office, a spacious bonus room and a covered main-floor deck. Located in the southwest community of Sirocco, the home blends mid-century design with modern comfort, featuring warm, moody retro tones, organic stone, earthy woods, and matte black and gold accents. In addition to the Dream Home, the Park family also won $50,000 in cash.
“We are excited to welcome Andrea and her family as they begin to create memories in their new Dream Home. It is heartwarming to watch a family embrace multi-generational living, similar to many Calgarians,” says Vered Amir, Vice President of Brand Leadership & Community Engagement, Homes by Avi Group of Companies. “Homes by Avi and our trade partners love being part of this unique build. For the past 29 years, we have been proud to be the official builder of the Calgary Stampede Rotary Dream Home. This partnership has been a cornerstone of Homes by Avi’s pillars, allowing us to support the Rotary Club of Calgary at Stampede Park and Calgary Stampede Lotteries in raising funds for the numerous local charitable organizations.”
In 2025, the Calgary Stampede Lotteries once again made a significant impact, giving back more than $1.77 million to the southern Alberta community and to local charities through the Rotary Club of Calgary at Stampede Park, the Kinsmen Club of Calgary and the Calgary Marching Showband Association.
“Stampede Lotteries exists to support community, and this incredible partnership between the Rotary Club of Calgary at Stampede Park, Homes by Avi and the Calgary Stampede allows us to make a meaningful difference each year,” says Russ Kane, Chair of the Calgary Stampede Lotteries Committee, which is run by volunteers who dedicate their time to give back to the community through the Lotteries program. “We are grateful to everyone who purchases a ticket, as their support helps fund programs and organizations that strengthen our city and region. We are thrilled to welcome Andrea and her family to their new home, and we extend our thanks to all of our partners who help bring the Dream Home to life.”
