With only 100 days until the official kick-off of The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, the Calgary Stampede is honoured to announce that Canadian-born country music superstar Shania Twain will lead the 2025 Stampede Parade presented by Suncor.
A global superstar, celebrated songwriter and style icon, Twain is a five-time GRAMMY winner and one of music and fashion’s most renowned trailblazers. With six albums released and more than 100 million albums sold worldwide, Twain remains the top-selling female country pop artist of all time and is set to bring her powerhouse performance as part of the Stampede Concert Series to the Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday, July 5.
“The city of Calgary and the province of Alberta have always held a very special place in my heart,” says Twain who last performed at the Stampede in 2014. ”The Calgary Stampede is an amazing celebration of Western heritage and culture and embodies the true spirit of Calgarians and Canadians. I look forward to being part of it again, not only playing at the Saddledome on the first Saturday of Stampede, but also on horseback riding through the streets of downtown Calgary.”
“With just 100 days until the Parade rolls through the streets of downtown Calgary, there’s no better way to mark the occasion than by welcoming Shania Twain as our 2025 Parade Marshal,” says Stuart O’Connor, President & Chair of the Board at the Calgary Stampede. “As a Canadian icon who has captivated audiences worldwide, Shania embodies the grit, passion and celebration that defines the Stampede. We can’t wait to see her lead the Parade and share this unforgettable moment with our community, as well as visitors and viewers from around the world.”
More than just a parade marching down the street, the Calgary Stampede Parade is a march through tradition, history and Calgary’s culture. Each year the Parade is led by the Parade Marshal, a special individual who exemplifies the values of the Stampede. Past Marshals include many stars in the entertainment industry and have also recognized individuals for their remarkable personal achievements, such as Olympians, astronauts, mountain climbers and cancer survivors. Find a full list of past Parade Marshals here.
The Calgary Stampede Parade begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 4, with the prelude beginning at 7:30 a.m. Immediately following the Parade, guests can take advantage of Stampede Parade to Park presented by Suncor by going straight from the Parade to Stampede Park to receive free admission from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For more information, please visit calgarystampede.com.
