Calgary – The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth is eight days away and Stampede Park is opening its doors, getting ready to welcome Calgarians and visitors from around the world July 7-16, 2023.

Road closures supporting construction on Stampede Park and in the surrounding Culture + Entertainment District are on hold for Stampede 2023, and Stampede Park is wide open and ready to welcome guests.

Getting to Stampede Park

There are many ways to get to Stampede Park with ease:

CTrain

With 24-hour CTrain service, extended hours on many bus routes and two Express Stampede bus routes, transit is a great way to get to Stampede Park. You can take the Red Line to Erlton Stampede Station or Victoria Park Stampede Station, which will bring you right to the action.

Quick tip: Use Erlton Station for the fastest route to GMC Stadium, Nashville North, the Coca-Cola Stage and the Dog Bowl presented by Voilà. Victoria Park Stampede Station will drop you right near The Market and Stage of Wonders in the BMO Centre, and Midway fun and food. For details on getting around via Calgary Transit during Stampede, please visit calgarytransit.com/Stampede.

Driving

Planning on driving to Stampede Park? All major intersections in the area have reopened.

To improve ease-of-access and traffic flow, several one-way detours will be in place along 5 St SE, 14 Ave SE and Stampede Trail to facilitate drop-off.

Quick tip: Use the Culture + Entertainment District Stampede 2023 Access Map for traffic flow and drop-off locations.

Stampede Public parking is available north of the BMO Centre at the corner of Macleod Trail and 12 Ave and directly north of Stampede Park in the 11 Ave lot. Additionally, public parking is available in East Village, including the Platform parkade at 407 9 Ave SE.

Bikes, Scooters & Walking

A two-wheeled transportation approach to Stampede Park is also an easy and accessible option with bike lanes in the area open. Bike and scooter parking will be available at every entrance to Stampede Park.

Sidewalks in and around Stampede Park are also open, allowing for easy pedestrian access.

Rideshare Service

Drop-off for Lyft, Uber and Taxi will be located along 14 Ave and 5 St SE outside of the Stampede Trail (North) Entrance and in the Erlton transit loop outside of the Erlton (South) Entrance to Stampede Park.

Pick-up is not the same as drop-off for Rideshare – designated Lyft and Uber pick-up will be located along 10 Ave between Macleod Trail North and 4 St. SE, as well as the Erlton transit loop.

Taxi pick-up will be located along 14 Ave and 5 St SE outside of the Stampede Trail (North) Entrance and in the Erlton transit loop outside of the Erlton (South) Entrance to Stampede Park.

Navigating Around Stampede Park

We are pausing the dust so guests can kick up some dust at The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth! The 2023 Stampede Midway has been thoughtfully planned with plenty of room to roam and major attractions spread out across Stampede Park, with six new rides and many new experiences.

From live music to agriculture performances and free family fun, there is a lot of ground to cover when you step onto Stampede Park.

For the closest access to the Rodeo and Evening Show in GMC Stadium, the Dog Bowl presented by Voilà, Nashville North and the Coca-Cola Stage, use the Erlton (South) Entrance.

For the best access to The Market and the Stage of Wonders shows in the BMO Centre and Midway Food and Games, use the Victoria Park (West) Entrance. Once you’re on Stampede Park, the BMO Centre is accessible through the big doors across from Weadickville – look out for signage!

And if you’re here for a Saddledome show, a Monster Energy Compound freestyle motocross show, Elbow River Camp, or the Great FUNtier kids’ Midway, access is easiest from the Stampede Trail (North) Entrance.

If you need to beat the heat or rest your feet, there is more seating, more shade and more air-conditioned spaces. From the refreshed and air-conditioned Range Food Hall on the lower level of The Big Four Building, to the Community Stage in the BMO Centre, find snacks, shade and seats in more places.

With so much to do and see at Stampede 2023, plan your visit in advance! Download the Stampede App on the Apple App Store or get it on Google Play. With up-to-the-minute show times and information, you can find familiar favourites and discover brand-new experiences, all on your phone and then create your personalized Stampede schedule.
