Media are invited to the Nutrien Western Event Centre at Stampede Park for this year’s 4-H on Parade, presented by Brandt, taking place May 31 - June 2, 2024! This time-honoured event, now in its 86th year, is Western Canada's largest gathering of 4-H members and celebrates the achievements of more than 362 youth from across 32 clubs in the Calgary region.

First held in 1936, 4-H on Parade is a shining example of the Calgary Stampede’s commitment to agriculture and building youth leaders. 4-H members 'Learn to do by Doing', which helps youth members build and develop a variety of skills and leadership for their future endeavours. Open for public viewing with complimentary admission, 4-H on Parade offers 4-H youth the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete with their projects, whether it be with horses, cattle, dogs, crafts or even archery.

While the event is a highlight every year for the hundreds of 4-H members and their families who attend, this year will be extra special for at least one competitor, who is also about to be one of the faces featured in a commercial as part of the Stampede’s 2024 advertising campaign. Hannah Schwengler, 12, and her one-year-old her heifer, London, represent “The Agricultured” community who are at the heart of the Stampede. Hailing from Beiseker, Alberta, Hannah will be competing with London during the beef female show, on Friday, May 31.
