Music has become one of the defining parts of the Calgary Stampede experience. What began as a handful of performances has grown into The Greatest Music Festival in the West, with more than 100 acts performing across four stages and live music woven throughout Stampede Park for 10 unforgettable days each July.
From country legends and global headliners to nostalgic favourites and artists on the rise, the Calgary Stampede has built a music lineup that brings together every kind of music fan and every kind of Stampede night out.
“Music has become one of the biggest reasons people come to Stampede Park,” says Allison Wright, Director, Stampede Programming at the Calgary Stampede. “What’s really exciting is seeing how much it’s grown over the years. People plan entire Stampede days around concerts. Some come for a specific artist, others stumble into a show and end up staying all night. Those music moments have become part of people’s favourite Stampede memories.”
The live music experience stretches across Stampede Park, including the Stampede Concert Series presented by Uber Eats at the Scotiabank Saddledome. This year’s lineup includes Canadian music icon Alanis Morissette and global hip-hop superstar A$AP Rocky.
At the Coca-Cola Stage, the focus is on variety and discovery. This year’s lineup includes Alessia Cara, deadmau5, Ayra Starr, Jonah Kagan, The Beaches, All Time Low and Our Lady Peace, alongside artists across rock, pop, hip hop and EDM.
“The Coca-Cola Stage is such an important part of Stampede’s music story,” says Wright. “You have major artists sharing the stage alongside newer names and local artists, and that mix is what makes this stage interesting. It has this energy that feels really unique to summer in Calgary.”
Few venues are more deeply connected to Stampede nightlife than Nashville North, The Original Stampede Party Tent. Since opening in 1992 as a dedicated country music tent, Nashville North has grown into one of the city’s most iconic live music experiences, known for its high-energy atmosphere and unforgettable nights of live country music.
This year’s Sneak-a-Peek on July 2 kicks off with Josh Ross, followed by a lineup featuring Bailey Zimmerman, Russell Dickerson, Chris Young, Hudson Westbrook and Ashley McBryde, Redferrin, Ernest, Shane Smith & The Saints, alongside fan favourites, house bands and artists making their Stampede debut.
“With a bigger tent, bigger artists and the best party vibes, Nashville North continues to be the heart of the city’s best live country music,” says Wright. “There’s something about the atmosphere in this venue that keeps people coming back year after year. You instantly feel like everyone is there to celebrate together.”
Meanwhile, The Big Four Roadhouse brings a different kind of music experience to Stampede Park, blending live bands, iconic songs and true roadhouse energy into nights built for dancing, celebrating and catching up with friends. This year’s lineup includes Johnny Reid, Sons of Legion, Terri Clark, Tanya Tucker and Glass Tiger.
“The Big Four Roadhouse is all about atmosphere,” says Wright. “It’s where people come to relax, sing along, grab a drink with friends and settle into a really fun night out. There’s a laid-back energy to it that feels very different from the other stages on Park.”
Across every stage and every venue, live music has become one of the experiences that defines Stampede for so many guests each summer. Whether it’s a headline concert at the Saddledome, a late-night set at Nashville North, an unforgettable singalong at the Coca-Cola Stage or a nostalgic night out at The Big Four Roadhouse, these moments are what make the Calgary Stampede The Greatest Music Festival in the West.
