The Calgary Stampede Parade presented by Suncor is more than just a procession down the city streets—it’s a celebration of tradition, history, Calgary’s cultures and the official kick-off to our annual celebration each July!

Two groups that exemplify these values are the Serbian Cultural Society Frula’s dance ensemble, and Guns of the Golden West, a Wild West reenactment troupe — both of whom have previously participated in the Stampede Parade.

For Nina Pavlovic and the Frula dance ensemble, the Parade offers an opportunity to share Serbia's vibrant culture with a global audience, with their intricate performances, traditional costumes and melodies passed down through generations. “When you’re part of the Stampede Parade, you’re not just performing on a huge stage—you’re sharing a part of who you are,” Nina explained. “For us, that means representing our Serbian heritage. We love sharing our culture and connecting with the community at the Parade," Nina shared.

Meanwhile, Bob Wilson and the Guns of the Golden West, described the Parade as a highlight of their year. “This will be our 27th year coming,” Bob says proudly. Bob and his troupe of historical reenactors bring the Old West to life with interactive performances that transform the Parade Route into a living historical stage. "The Parade is the beginning of all the festivities—it’s an honour to welcome the world to the Calgary Stampede," he said.

Together, Nina and Bob’s stories highlight how the Parade serves as a crossroads of past and present, local and global, and individual and community.

As the 2025 Stampede Parade approaches, the application process is open to groups, businesses, and individuals eager to showcase their talents and stories. Whether your organization looks to preserve a cultural legacy, share an innovative idea, or create unforgettable memories, the Stampede Parade offers a chance to be part of an iconic event that unites and inspires.

Applications to participate in the 2025 Calgary Stampede Parade are open now until Feb. 15, 2025. We can’t wait to see what new groups and traditions will join us on Parade Day, July 4, 2025!
